Those interested in formal instruction in using MeV may want to attend
the MGED 9 meeting, held September 7-10 in Seattle, WA. This year's MGED
meeting will include a workshop on the use of MeV for data analysis.
Members of the TM4 Development Team will be present at MGED to teach, give
talks, answer questions and hand out TM4 CDs.
We hope to see you there!

MGED 9, Sept 7-10, 2006
This year Seattle will be hosting the annual meeting of the Microarray
Gene Expression Data (MGED) society here at the University of Washington
from September 7-10, 2006. MGED is the group responsible for creating the
Minimum Information About a Microarray Experiment (MIAME) standards, the
microarray data exchange standard MAGE-ML, and a lot of associated
software for data processing. Leaders from this same group formed the
Gene Ontology consortium. The annual meeting includes tutorials, great
seminars and invited lectures that span a range of subjects from data
analysis to new technologies in functional genomics. This year's program
is a particularly exciting one with several excellent speakers in leading
areas of technology development.
Details about the conference can be found at www.mgedmeeting.org
<http://www.mgedmeeting.org/>. The conference is currently accepting
abstracts for both talks and posters. Awards for the best graduate student
and postdoc posters will be made (last year MGED gave cash awards of a few
$100/person), so that makes contributing a good poster very worthwhile.
